I’ve spent way too much time figuring out how to use Performancing blog traffic stats reporting for my Marketing Superhero blog which uses Blogger.
WordPress includes blog and feed stats and below is a screen shot from today’s results.
We need to remember that ease of use is critical. WordPress may not report as much as I will want one day, but they’ve wet my appetite for blog analytics. It may make sense for them to offer an enhanced service for a small fee.

My rankings on Technorati are going up but there is something disturbing going on. There are blogs that are linking to my posts that are simply reposting my headline. This could be alright I guess but as I review these blogs posts they seem to just post other blog links only. There is no person associated to the blog which raises a flag to me.
My sense is that these folks are collecting links from other blogs and posting them on their blogs to increase traffic to their sites. Why? There ONLY purpose is to increase traffic to generate adsense revenue.
I think I’ll find out who is behind these blogs to validate my concerns. These folks could qualify as marketing villians on my Marketing Superhero blog.
I’ll keep you “posted”. =)

See the ads below promoting Explosive sniffer dogs and Dog Training Secrets? These adsense ads are on my Marketing Superhero blog. Why Dogs? My first Superhero candidate was the Superdogs. Google renders ads based on content that resides within my blog.
There is relevance to the post but not the purpose of my blog which is to showcase the superheros and villains of marketing. Time will tell as to whether adsense begins to post more relevant ads or not.

Pretty neat seeing it in action though!
